BIOGRAPHY

Rich is an experienced communications leader with deep expertise in public relations, public policy, internal communications and employee engagement, who has helped shape a positive narrative for multiple organizations while fostering collaborative and supportive work environments.

Known for his inclusive leadership style, Rich joined Issues Management Group in 2022 as Senior Vice President of our healthcare practice to serve a diverse and growing portfolio of clients that include healthcare systems, health plans, health tech companies and physician groups throughout the Northeast and into the Midwest and West Coast.

Rich has held leadership positions in state government and the healthcare delivery system for more than two decades. Prior to joining the firm, he spent 13 years at Mass General Brigham, the largest private employer in Massachusetts, including ten as vice president of communications and chief spokesperson. Rich played a key advisory role on major public policy matters, supported Mass General Brigham’s brand transition, spearheaded the development of a corporate intranet site to streamline communications, and led the digital signage strategy within the new administrative building housing 4,200 colleagues.

Rich previously held senior communications roles at the Massachusetts Hospital Association (MHA) and Brockton Hospital. He began his career in Governor Weld’s press office and served as director of communications for two Secretaries of Health and Human Services. Rich resides in Mansfield, Massachusetts with his wife and three children, where he volunteers his time coaching various sports clubs. Rich previously served as the President of the Brockton High School Alumni Association and the Chair of the Elections Commission for the City of Brockton.
