BIOGRAPHY
Robert is a senior advisor at Issues Management Group, informing and supporting the strategic growth of the firm’s life sciences vertical. He is also a Managing Director and the New England Life Science and Healthcare Practice Group lead at JLL. Robert served as the President & CEO of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council (MassBio) for thirteen years where he advanced Massachusetts’s leadership in the life sciences industry.
Robert has spent his career in both the public and private sectors. Before joining MassBio, he served as the Undersecretary of Economic Development within Governor Deval Patrick’s administration, following his role as State Representative to the 11th Norfolk district for three terms. Robert has also held senior executive positions in the environmental services, capital management, and venture capital industries.
Robert is a graduate of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy where he majored in Marine Engineering and served as an officer in the United States Naval Reserve. Robert has been honored for his leadership by esteemed organizations in both the business and life sciences communities, including the American Diabetes Association, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Boston Irish Business Association, Massachusetts Society for Medical Research, National Tay-Sachs & Allied Diseases Association, Childrens Trust, and Network for Excellence in Health Innovation. He was named to the Boston Business Journal’s Power 50 and Top 50 Most Influential Bostonians lists. In 2016, Robert was honored with the Boston Biotech CEO Lifetime Achievement Award.
